For the past 70 years, Recovery Resources has been dedicated to improving mental health and wellbeing in our community. Doing so has required us to bridge the gap between the care available and the people who need that care. Our comprehensive prevention, treatment and recovery programs provide accessible, compassionate care for individuals experiencing mental health issues, addiction and gambling problems. Alongside organizations in our community, we create more integrated and effective responses to mental health and addiction concerns. Together, we’re meeting people where they are and strengthening our communities.

CORPORATE & COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
Building Bridges for Mental Health
Communities thrive when we come together to address challenges. Our community partnerships are crucial in addressing crises and the growing demand for mental health support.
First CALL
From Crisis to Connection: Fostering Healthier Communities
In 2024, Recovery Resources and the cities of Shaker Heights, Cleveland Heights, Richmond Heights, South Euclid and University Heights launched First CALL (Crisis Assistance and Local Linkage), an innovative mental health response program. A dedicated team of licensed social workers, counselors and peer supporters respond independently but simultaneously with local police and fire departments to assist persons in crisis. This program offers continuous follow-up and support to individuals, facilitating access to essential mental health, addiction and other services, while effectively decreasing the volume of non-emergency calls to 911.

City of Lyndhurst
Trauma-Informed Community of Care
Recovery Resources has partnered with the City of Lyndhurst and Lyndhurst Police and Fire Departments to create a more trauma-informed community. We’re training city employees and first responders to effectively interact with community members experiencing trauma, helping to de-escalate challenging situations and quickly connect individuals to the most appropriate mental health care.
Program Goals
- Develop a workforce that recognizes trauma and its impact
- Connect community members to services
- Increase retention and job satisfaction for first responders
“In conversations with various members of patrol, several members stated they were able to recognize the signs of trauma when responding to calls, as well as stating they felt more comfortable with the way they responded to these calls because of the training they received.”

What occurs after clinical treatment is crucial for our clients’ success. It’s not just about health: safe and stable housing, along with gainful employment, is essential for sustaining recovery.

They are all available for rent on a sliding fee scale for clients who meet eligibility criteria, which includes being actively in recovery from mental health and/or substance use disorders. Learning to Fly
“I went to jail, and then I went to treatment. I heard about Monarch House and wanted to go there. I felt welcomed and immediately supported by Salina (peer support). Since being here, I’ve learned it’s OK to love yourself, work on yourself and put yourself first. I feel like I’m family with the girls I met at Monarch, and I’ve learned that walking, listening to classical music, watching TV, riding my bike and being outdoors are all healthy activities to help me.”
Employment
The Employment Alliance is open to residents of Cuyahoga County (age 18 and older) who receive treatment for mental illness and/or substance abuse disorder and wish to enter or return to competitive employment.
Support is available for pre-employment including work incentive planning, benefits counseling, community-based work assessment and adjustment, and career exploration. To aid in gaining employment services such as individualized job seeking skills training, job development and placement services are made available. Once employment is gained job coaching, retention and supportive follow-along ensure clients can maintain their employment to support their long-term stability and recovery.
Transforming Careers and Lives
“I was assigned a client that works as a tax consultant. They shared that working with the Employment Alliance changed their outlook on life—they feel complete with a full-time job, and their employer accommodates them with their anxiety. The client thanks Recovery Resources for everything, from the Employment Alliance and all the wrap-around services that have supported them.”
