Last year, we hosted over 600 people to represent every life lost in Cuyahoga County in 2016 to accidental overdose. Over $100,000 was raised to help provide prevention, treatment and recovery services for those we serve. This year our goal is to have over 800 runners and walkers of all ages, raise over $100,000 and to celebrate recovery and stand alongside family and friends of those who have lost loved ones.
At this year's 6th Annual Run for Recovery, we will celebrate recovery and remember those who have lost their lives to an addiction related-illness.
The "We Remember Memorial Wall" will be displayed at the Run for Recovery on August 18th at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, paying tribute to lost loved ones. Pictures will be placed two three-paneled stands with chalkboard paint. Those who visit the wall can write messages of hope and share their memories.
If you have a loved one who has passed away, let us honor them with their picture on the "We Remember Memorial Wall". Follow the directions at this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PQ3YPM3
CONGRATULATIONS to our Maserati Madness winner and top fundraiser, Bob Laughton! We also want to thank everyone who donated to Run for Recovery during Maserati Madness. With your contributions, we raised over $9,000 in June! A final shout out goes to Cleveland Motorsports for allowing the winner a weekend rental in a Maserati Ghibli.
Each year, Recovery Resources strives to advance the cause of National Recovery Month. In 2013, we generated community support and awareness by hosting our first annual Run for Recovery. Since then, the Run for Recovery has grown each year, turning into one of the best ways to celebrate recovery.
For our 6th Annual Run for Recovery, we're excited to be back at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. All 5K and walk participants will receive a free ticket to spend the day at the Zoo. There will be a lot of family-friendly activities during the event, including the chance to write a message on our "Wall of Hope". Organized by the Recovery Resources Associate Board, and Co-Chairs Christine Benner and Cally Fleming, Run for Recovery is an excellent way to kick-off Recovery Month.
