Run for Recovery

Last year, we hosted over 600 people to represent every life lost in Cuyahoga County in 2016 to accidental overdose.  Over $100,000 was raised to help provide prevention, treatment and recovery services for those we serve.  This year our goal is to have over 800 runners and walkers of all ages, raise over $100,000 and to celebrate recovery and stand alongside family and friends of those who have lost loved ones.

Why CLE Run for Recovery Blog Post

The August 18th Run for Recovery is right around the corner and Recovery Resources is just over 50% of the way to our team fundraising goal. We are counting on YOU to help us get to 100%! The money raised supports critical prevention, treatment and recovery programs in Cleveland.
We have several opportunities for registered runners/walkers to win prizes at the Run for Recovery event:
1. If you raise $1,000 or more, your name will be put into a raffle. Two names will be drawn. One will receive a Legacy Village gift card and the other, two round-trip tickets from Ultimate Air Shuttle.
2. The top fundraiser for Run for Recovery will win a $500 gift card to Legacy Village.
3. The corporate or organization team that raised the most money will receive a plaque from Recovery Resources and be brought on stage to be recognized.
Learn more information, register and donate for the run at www.wizathon.com/RunforRecovery. Thank you to everyone who has worked hard to raise money so far! Let's keep up the great efforts in this home-stretch!

At this year's 6th Annual Run for Recovery, we will celebrate recovery and remember those who have lost their lives to an addiction related-illness.

The "We Remember Memorial Wall" will be displayed at the Run for Recovery on August 18th at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, paying tribute to lost loved ones. Pictures will be placed two three-paneled stands with chalkboard paint. Those who visit the wall can write messages of hope and share their memories.

If you have a loved one who has passed away, let us honor them with their picture on the "We Remember Memorial Wall". Follow the directions at this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PQ3YPM3

CONGRATULATIONS to our Maserati Madness winner and top fundraiser, Bob Laughton! We also want to thank everyone who donated to Run for Recovery during Maserati Madness. With your contributions, we raised over $9,000 in June! A final shout out goes to Cleveland Motorsports for allowing the winner a weekend rental in a Maserati Ghibli.

Each year, Recovery Resources strives to advance the cause of National Recovery Month. In 2013, we generated community support and awareness by hosting our first annual Run for Recovery. Since then, the Run for Recovery has grown each year, turning into one of the best ways to celebrate recovery.

For our 6th Annual Run for Recovery, we're excited to be back at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. All 5K and walk participants will receive a free ticket to spend the day at the Zoo. There will be a lot of family-friendly activities during the event, including the chance to write a message on our "Wall of Hope". Organized by the Recovery Resources Associate Board, and Co-Chairs Christine Benner and Cally Fleming, Run for Recovery is an excellent way to kick-off Recovery Month.

Online registration closes at 9:00 a.m. on August 17, 2018, but please feel free to register at the event.

All funds raised will go directly towards life-saving services including treatment programs, client transportation, and every day basic necessities.
Treatment: Whether clients need treatment for the early stages of substance use or have been dependent on drugs and/or alcohol for a long time, Recovery Resources offers a variety of outpatient services, including Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Addiction Treatment Programs, lasting eight weeks. Money raised from the Run for Recovery allows these programs to continue and gets those who need care into treatment.
Transportation: According to Recovery Resources clients, transportation to get to their treatment is the number one obstace they face. In our annual fund, $76,000 goes toward RTA bus passes and other transportation options. These funds heavily come from Run for Recovery fundraising dollars.
Basic Necessities: Recovery Resources provides clothing, toiletries and other basic necessities for our clients who can not afford them. We also provide uniforms for jobs and trainings to get clients into competitive employment. It's through money raised during the Run for Recovery that makes this possible.
